Schwartz Theater Solo Exhibit

September 2016 ~ February 2017 

Everyone used to ask if I had a website, and after I began Pieces of My Soul Creations, I began the journey to photograph the art pieces to utilize on a website. I wanted to stage the art pieces as a part of an art exhibit and approached a local theatre to ask if I could use their venue to stage the exhibit. I would install the art one day, get them photographed, and remove them the next day. After the installation of thirty-eight pieces, the manager asked if they could keep my works up! 

That turned into a six-month solo exhibit, and I even sold a couple of pieces! God has given each of us gifts, talents, and abilities that we tend to downplay if they are not our career choice. Am I Picasso? No. Will I make millions of dollars? I have learned to “never say never,” but have I and can I inspire people with my art? Absolutely! To say I was ecstatic to be offered an opportunity to have this solo exhibited would be accurate, but I thankful and I was totally surprised. As I was installing the last couple of pieces for the exhibited I passed a woman in the parking lot as I getting the last pieces and she asked, "Are you the artist?" I almost looked behind me to see who she was talking to, and then I said "yes, that's me." The day I discovered I was not only a poet, a spoken word artist, I was also an abstract artist. I have learned to stop trying to define it, just know, I am an artist.
