Award-winning Abstract Artist, seeking to motivate, inspire, develop, serve/strengthen, or teach others through the arts. 

My art began in the form of words as a young adult. Poetry became a way to channel the pain of life's emotional and sometimes difficult times. And what I found was that not only did it help heal me, but it also helped heal others. That premise has allowed space for celebration for me. It humbles me as I am reminded that God put us here to help others. He will use the gifts and talents He has given you to do so. Trust God. Trust that. Even when it’s painful.

Over time my art transformed from paper to canvas via abstract art and after the passing of my best friend, (Lisa Wilkins) of 33 years in 2015 from cancer, my artistry transformed again to photography. Though my soul was shattered, it was re-formed into and made whole again by allowing me space to motivate, inspire, develop, serve, or teach others through my art with the creation of "Pieces of My Soul Creations in memory of her."  Pieces of My Soul, the name of the poem I flowed at her Homegoing Service. 

After the recent transition of my son, Raheem "RocBarz" Channel (July 31, 1981 ~ March 11, 2019), it has been difficult to "channel” my art.  There are no words to describe the pain of losing my Son. And as an artist who is used to channeling pain through my art, not being able to create, is suffering out loud silently. 

 
Feeling compelled to create a website while also feeling conflicted for its purpose had me at a standstill. However, leaning into the premise of trusting God even when you’re hurting, I began to create the website with for art. A space where I can continue to motivate, inspire, develop serve/strengthen or teach others with my art as I continue to heal.  I guess God was allowing me to create in a different way; He was allowing me to create a space where my art  would reach from the East Coast to West Coast; world wide ...
